City of Kansas City to host September 11 Memorial:
Heart of America Remembers

Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes and the City of Kansas City, Missouri, will host a September 11 Memorial Ceremony on the south steps of City Hall at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11.

This ceremony, entitled Heart of America Remembers, and will feature remarks from Mayor Barnes, Jackson County Executive Katheryn Shields, Police Chief Rick Easley and Fire Chief Smokey Dyer, participation from the Kansas City Police and Fire Departments, and prayers of remembrance, peace and hope offered by several members of the local faith community.

The public is invited to attend this event.

Between 10 a.m. and noon, 12th Street between Oak and Locust Streets will be closed for this special event.
