The City of Kansas City, Mo., and Jackson County will unveil 200 works of art installed on the Sprint Center site barriers at 13th Street and Grand Avenue tonight at 5:30 p.m.
The art was created by local youth in conjunction with the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s Municipal Art Commission and Jackson County’s COMBAT Office. COMBAT is the sponsor of the unveiling event. The installation will be on display during the construction of the Sprint Center.
This project is a cooperative effort involving Jackson County; the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s Capital Improvements Management Office and Youth Advocacy Office; the Downtown Neighborhood Association; My ARTS; the Chameleon Theatre Program in conjunction with Kansas City, Missouri’s Parks and Recreation Department; the Pan-Educational Institute; K.C. Mentoring Initiative; adjudicated youth of Jackson County Family Court; Storytellers Inc. Artist Collective; the Chameleon Theatre summer program; and the RESTART Center.
