Teens asked to shake up city hall

The Youth Advocacy Office (City Manager's Office) is accepting applications from Kansas City, Mo., youth between the ages of 12 and 23 who wish to serve on the Kansas City Youth Commission. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Sept. 15.

The 17 young people who are selected will have the chance to be the official youth voice in the City's decision-making process. Youth commission members will be chosen through a competitive process to advocate for the needs and wants of Kansas City's youth. They also will be called upon to encourage political involvement among their peers.
