Residents advised about wastewater overflow near 4670 Raytown Road
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department reported a wastewater overflow due to a broken sewer at a manhole near 4670 Raytown Road on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m.
Approximately 3,700 gallons of wastewater were discharged during the overflow. The wastewater was confined to a pocket in the creek. Crews dammed the creek to ensure the wastewater was contained and then pumped it back into the sewer that was not damaged. The sewer was repaired, and the overflow ended at 4:10 p.m.
