Environmental Management announces public meetings
The third phase of RecycleFIRST, which covers one-third of the city, begins Sept. 1.
Neighborhoods that start recycling in September may schedule an informational presentation for their group by calling Judy Widener, Bridging The Gap’s RecycleFIRST community outreach coordinator, (816) 561-1061, Ext. 121. Bridging The Gap is a non-profit environmental education organization that is contracting with the City to coordinate RecycleFIRST education.
Signs, posters, fliers, handouts and door hangers are available at no cost to alert neighbors to start recycling.
People who live in neighborhoods that do not have regular meetings may attend one of the following meetings:
Northland Neighborhoods Inc., Antioch Shopping Center, Aug. 17, 10 a.m.
Southeast Community Center, 3601 E. 63rd St., Aug. 17, 7 p.m.
Northeast Branch of the Kansas City Public Library**, Aug. 18, 7 p.m.
Barry Christian Church, Fellowship Hall, 1500 NW Barry Road, Aug. 25, 7 p.m.
Hillcrest Community Center**, 10401 Hillcrest Road, Aug. 26, 7 p.m.
Northland Neighborhoods Inc., Antioch Shopping Center, Sept. 23, 10 a.m.
(**There will be English and Spanish presentations at these meetings.)
