City suspends two liquor licenses for 15 days
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the managing officers of Star Discount Smoke & Convenience Store and the Prairie View Phillips convenience store have agreed to 15 day suspensions of their establishment’s liquor licenses.
Star Discount Smoke & Convenience Store is located at 2518 Vivion Road, and Prairie View Phillips is located at 5910 N.W. Prairie View Road. Both suspensions will begin at 9 a.m. on Aug. 16 and end at midnight Aug. 30.
The suspensions are the result of employees selling alcoholic beverages to minors, which is a City ordinance violation. During the suspension, the businesses will remain open but alcoholic beverages will not be sold.
As a condition of the suspensions, the managing officers of both establishments have agreed to provide education, training and instruction to their employees about City ordinances.
