Hate crimes will be topic of public meeting Aug. 15
Councilwoman Becky Nace, 5th District at large, and Councilman Terry Riley, 5th District, are conducting a public meeting Aug. 15, to discuss the recent occurrence of a hate crime at New Zion Baptist Church at 81st Street and Paseo Boulevard.
The Aug. 15 meeting will be from 6-7 p.m. at Marlborough Community Center, 8200 Paseo Boulevard. There will be a panel discussion about hate crimes, in particular the spray-painting of a swastika on the front door of New Zion Baptist Church.
Panel members will include representatives from area neighborhood associations, the U.S. Department of Justice, the NAACP, and the City's Police Department and Human Relations Department.
