Alcohol Beverage Advisory Group to meet Aug. 4
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Alcohol Beverage Advisory Group will conduct its next meeting Aug. 4 at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Regulated Industries Division office at Century Towers, 635 Woodland Ave., in suite 2101.
At this meeting, the advisory group will discuss these proposed ordinance amendments:
-- Section 10-186 – The re-issuance of any license that previously had been surrendered by the holder
-- Section 10-1 – The addition of the definition of an all-age concert (this information inadvertently was omitted when the ordinance was changed)
-- Section 10-104 – Changing the consenter requirements to extend an additional 100 feet when the additional area does not intersect more than 15 parcels
-- Section 10-211 – Changing the exemptions to the density ordinance to allow for these exemptions to only occur within the areas specifically mentioned in subsections 1(a), 1(b), 1(c), 2(a) and 2(b).
The Alcoholic Beverage Advisory Group consists of 12 members from the community and the manager of the Regulated Industries Division. The purpose of the group is to review City ordinances from Chapter 10 on a routine basis and make recommendations. The recommendations are made with regard to public safety and take into consideration new standards and advances within the liquor industry as they may apply to the current liquor laws. The manager of Regulated Industries Division shares the group's recommendations with the City Council for further review and consideration.
