Ceremony planned for new bicycle/pedestrian trail

The City of Kansas City, Mo., will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on July 18 to mark the start of construction on a portion of the Santa Fe bicycle/pedestrian trail. The event will be held near Kansas City Hospice, 12000 Wornall Road, and parking will be available at that location.

This $1.5 million project consists of road improvements to control traffic along Santa Fe Trail Road, including improved traffic signals and new curbs and sidewalks. The plan also includes a 1,400-linear-foot trail that will be constructed on the south side of the street.
