Pre-bid conference July 25 for home repair contractors
Contractors wanting to participate in City of Kansas City, Mo., home repair programs are invited to a mandatory, pre-bid conference.
The Property Preservation Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department will hold this conference from 9:30 a.m. to noon on July 25 at the Robert J. Mohart Multipurpose FOCUS Center, 3200 Wayne Ave. This conference is mandatory for all contractors who are currently working in the programs and all contractors who are interested in applying to bid on work.
"We are looking for quality contractors who perform roofing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, painting and weatherization work on residential properties," said Bob Jackson, manager of the Property Preservation Division. "The purpose of the conference is to inform current contractors of changes in the home repair programs and sign up new contractors."
The programs, which are open to Kansas City, Mo., residents who meet eligibility requirements, include the following:
o Home Weatherization Program
o Municipal Court Fund Program (referral only)
o Emergency Home Repair Program (revised Minor Home Repair Program, which will start accepting applications this summer – date will be announced)
The cost of each project is expected to be $1,000 to $10,000.
