Aim4Peace hosts Peace Ride on July 15
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department’s Aim4Peace program, in partnership with the Redline Riders Motorcycle Club, encourages residents to attend the Third Annual Peace Ride on Sunday, July 15 from noon to 4 p.m. The event will be at Blue Valley Park in the Main Shelter, 2301 Topping Ave.
The Peace Ride begins at noon with fun for the family, vendors from the community and hot rod bikes on display. The bikers will take off at 1 p.m. on a 24-mile ride through various parts of Kansas City. When the bikers return from the ride at approximately 2 p.m., presenters and attendees will discuss the history of African American motorcycle clubs and their part in the peace movement to stop the homicides. Residents may join the movement to stop the shooting and sign a Commitment to Peace agreement.
Gift certificates and other items donated by area motorcycle dealerships will be given away to Peace Ride participants and guests.
