63rd Street closes July 17 for reconstruction
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is advising motorists that 63rd Street will close from Swope Parkway to the east outer road of Highway 71 beginning Tuesday, July 17 to facilitate improvements to the roadway.
Residents may access their homes using Indiana and Bellefontaine avenues, between 62nd and 64th streets. Residents requiring special access during this timeframe are advised to contact Bryan Connell, onsite supervisor, at 816-985-6448 or Dave Haggard, project manager, at 816-763-3010.
This closure will continue through this summer and fall.
The 63rd Street Reconstruction Project will replace existing roadway pavement, driveway approaches, curbs, sidewalks and signals, and provide drainage and waterline improvements. The project is in its second of four phases, and is scheduled for completion in June 2013.
This work is being completed by the City’s Public Works Department and J.M. Fahey Construction Company.
