Jazz District event celebrates new construction projects

City of Kansas City, Mo., officials and residents of the 18th and Vine Jazz District will celebrate the more than $3 million in completed and planned improvements to the area with an event at 10 a.m. on July 8 at the corner of 18th Street and The Paseo.

The public is invited to attend the celebration, which includes a jazz band with members of the Mutual Musicians League.

Local leaders will be on hand to discuss the recently completed Phase I of a parking lot at the corner of 18th Street and The Paseo and upcoming projects, including:

- A new outdoor patio at the corner of 18th Street and The Paseo
- A new rooftop sign to distinguish the Jazz District
- $1.6 million in retail space renovations.
