City sponsors Junior RBI Classic neighborhood litter control events
The City of Kansas City, Mo., will sponsor neighborhood litter control events at Cleveland Park, Satchel Paige Stadium and Clark-Ketterman Athletic Fields on Saturday, June 30 from 8 a.m. to noon. These events will support the Junior RBI Classic, a youth baseball tournament taking place during All-Star Week 2012, July 6-9.
Eight baseball teams and four softball teams from around the United States and Canada, including three teams from Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan., will participate in this friendly tournament hosted by Major League Baseball.
Residents are invited to help beautify Kansas City by volunteering at one of the litter control events. Locations are below:
Cleveland Park: 43rd Street and Cleveland Avenue. Volunteers will meet at the parking lot north of the baseball/softball fields.
Satchel Paige Stadium: 51st Street and Swope Parkway. Volunteers will meet in the parking lot off of 51st Street.
Clark-Ketterman Athletic Fields: 107th Street and Skiles Avenue. Volunteers will meet at the entrance to the baseball fields.
