City and Explorers team for youth tennis camps
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Youth Advocacy Office, a division of the City Manager’s Office, the Parks and Recreation Department and the Kansas City Explorers World TeamTennis will hold two free tennis camps for Kansas City, Mo., youth ages 5-14 on July 7.
The first camp is from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Barry Road Park Tennis Courts, 7601 N.W. Barry Road, and the second camp is from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Ruskin High School tennis courts, 7000 E. 111th St.
Members of the Explorers will lead the camps, which are designed for players of all skill levels. Participants will receive professional tennis instruction and learn the importance of sportsmanship, physical fitness and team play. Each participant also will receive a free tennis racquet.
Parents or guardians must remain on-site throughout the tennis clinic. Participants must wear tennis shoes with non-marking soles.
