Open house to consider downtown streetcar transit
The City of Kansas City, Mo., encourages residents to attend and provide input at an open house on the Downtown Corridor Alternatives Analysis, a study that is considering adding streetcar transit to Downtown Kansas City.
The open house will take place Tuesday, June 21 from 4-6:30 p.m. in the Helzberg Auditorium at the Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library, 14 W. 10th St.
Those who attend can review project exhibits and provide comment. The Downtown Corridor Alternatives Analysis will conclude at the end of the year.
The analysis is a partnership among the City of Kansas City, Mo., the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, Mid-America Regional Council and Jackson County, Mo.
Those attending can park at the Central Library’s parking garage, located directly west of the Central Library building on the northwest corner of 10th Street and Baltimore Avenue. Parking is free for the first hour with validation from library staff. Metro bus service is also available.
Please notify the Mid-America Regional Council at 816-474-4240 at least 48 hours in advance if you require special accommodations to attend this meeting (i.e., qualified interpreter, large print, reader, hearing assistance). They will make every effort to meet reasonable requests.
