Leaf and brush drop-off days extended

Kansas City, Mo., residents with tree debris from the weekend storm can take it to the City’s two leaf and brush drop-off sites during extended days of operation this week.

The sites will be open Friday through Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The facilities are normally open on Saturdays only.

The drop-off sites are:

    1) The Environmental Campus, 4707 Deramus Road, just east of Chouteau Trafficway.

    2) Raytown Road Site, south of Interstate 470 on the east side of Raytown Road.

Only leaves and brush (including tree trimmings) are accepted at the sites. The sites are only available to Kansas City, Mo., residents. Identification is required to enter. No commercial or business waste is allowed.

Citizens are advised to beware of unscrupulous contractors. A complete listing of licensed contractors is on the Codes Administration Department’s Web page (www.kcmo.org/codes). Unscrupulous contractors can be reported to the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, (800) 392-8222, or www.moago.org.

Citizens are encouraged to obtain receipts from contractors showing proper debris disposal.
