Overnight valve, hydrant repairs near 45th, Belleview may affect water service in the area

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services crews will replace a leaking hydrant valve and a nearby nonfunctioning water line valve overnight Wednesday, June 13 in the area near 45th Street and Belleview Avenue.

Customers who live along Belleview Avenue from Westport Road to 46th Street may have low or no water pressure between 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 and 5 a.m. Thursday, June 14.

“Routine valve and hydrant maintenance is important to our commitment of providing clean drinking water and public safety,” said Water Services Director Terry Leeds. “We realize the inconvenience that this testing and maintenance places on our customers and will make a concerted effort to return water service as soon as possible.”

For more information, contact Colleen Doctorian, public information officer for the Water Services Department, at 816-513-0232.
