Basketball camp/clinic program has three events remaining

First seven events have served more than 350 young residents

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Youth Advocacy Office, a division of the City Manager’s Office, and the College Basketball Experience at Sprint Center have two basketball clinics and one camp left in a joint venture that offered 10 events for the city’s youth.

The camp and clinics are targeted to specific age groups and require pre-registration due to limited available space. The remaining sessions will take place at the following locations:

May 31 (clinic)
Penn Valley Community College, 3200 Southwest Trafficway
10 a.m. to noon
For youth ages 12-14, limited to the first 80

June 9-13 (camp)
College Basketball Experience, 1401 Grand Blvd.
8 a.m. to noon
For youth ages 12-14, limited to the first 60

June 21 (clinic)
Longview Community College, 500 S.W. Longview Road
10 a.m. to noon
For youth ages 15-18, limited to the first 60

More than 350 young people participated in the first seven camps and clinics. The events focus on goal setting and character development by stressing teamwork and sportsmanship.
