Residents invited to Family Walk and Bike Ride on May 12
The City of Kansas City, Mo., reminds residents to consider attending the Family Walk and Bike Ride on Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will begin at the Spirit of Freedom Fountain, near the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.
Residents who attend this free, family-friendly event will enjoy a 4.4-mile walk or bike ride down the new Brush Creek/Van Brunt Trail.
The City has organized this event with theBlack Health Care Coalition, American Diabetes Association and the KC Metro Bicycle Club. Each group will have information available at the event about living a healthier and more active life.
Parking is available at the Brush Creek Community Center and the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Center.
This event is a prelude to Kansas City Bike Week, May 14-18,a regional effort involving local governments, area bicycle clubs and advocacy groups, planning agencies and bike-friendly businesses.
