City Manager hosts luncheon for high-achieving youth
City of Kansas City, Mo., City Manager Wayne A. Cauthen, along with the City’s Youth Advocacy Office, will host the City Manager’s Luncheon to recognize outstanding area high school seniors. The luncheon is at 11:30 a.m.today at the downtown Bristol, 51 E. 14th St.
The purpose of the event is to bring together a diverse group of young, intelligent students to discuss their perspectives on living in Kansas City. The nomination process was open to schools in all 15 school districts that include students from Kansas City, Mo.
“This event gives the City’s Youth Advocacy Office and me an opportunity to talk with and listen to the comments and concerns these young people have about the city,” Cauthen said. “We are working to make the city more attractive to young, career-minded people and this forum is a great way to get input to achieve that goal.”
