City continues downtown two-way street conversions

Crews will convert Walnut Street from Fifth to 12th streets on Sunday

The City of Kansas City, Mo., will begin the second phase of its downtown street conversion project on Sunday, May 12, dependent on weather. Public Works crews will convert Walnut Street between Fifth and 12th streets from a one-way street to a two-way street to help drivers more effectively navigate downtown Kansas City.

Crews finished converting Walnut Street between Truman Road and 20th Street this past week.

Crews will also convert the following key downtown streets from one-way to two-ways later this month:

- Baltimore Avenue between 10th Street and 12th Street

- 14th Street between Broadway Boulevard and Wyandotte Street

- Charlotte Street between Eighth Street and 11th Street

Updates will be provided prior to the conversions. No changes will be made to parking alignment during this process.
