Monthly Waste Tire Drop-off Program event May 1

The Department of Environmental Management will conduct its Monthly Waste Tire Drop-off Program event May 1.

This program gives Kansas City, Mo., residents the opportunity to dispose of waste tires at the Environmental Campus, 4707 Deramus St., from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. the first Saturday of the month April through November. This program is not open to businesses.

Fees for tires are:

    Car: $1.50 (rimless), and $3 (rimmed)

    Truck: $4 (rimless), and $8 (rimmed)

    Tractor: $11 (rimless), and $17 (rimmed)

    Lawn/bike: 50 cents

    A $2 fee will be charged for each waste tire that is excessively muddy.

Neighborhood groups that conduct cleanups and have tires to dispose of may deliver tires free of charge. Only neighborhood groups that call (816) 784-2114 in advance to register will have the fees waived.
