Kansas City Officials to Officially Open Line Creek Trail

The first phase of the Line Creek Trail is complete from NW Platte Brooke Drive to NW 68th Street. Please join Kansas City officials on Saturday, April 24 at noon for the official dedication of the trail at 3711 NW Platte Brooke Drive (the end of Platte Brooke Drive in Kansas City).

“We’re excited to dedicate the first phase of this wonderful community amenity,” said Councilman Russ Johnson. “After working on this project for years, it’s great to bring our kids out and see it become reality.”

The mile-long segment is part of a regional trail system that will eventually connect Riverside, Parkville, and Smithville. As part of the road construction at NW 68th and Waukomis, a mile of the 64th Street trail and a quarter mile of Line Creek trail will be constructed. Work will continue on finishing this trail with segments being constructed south of 68th Street this summer.

“Whether you’re a walker or a biker, we hope you take advantage of this wonderful trail segment,” said Councilman Ed Ford. “We look forward to further trail dedications as we move towards a truly regional trail system.”
