New commission sponsoring youth focus group April 22
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is sponsoring a youth focus group to discuss solutions, resources and strategies as it relates to summer programming activities, in addition to long term strategies to engage and support young people. The focus group will be held from 6-7 p.m. in the gymnasium at the College Basketball Experience located at 1401 Grand Ave (next to the Sprint Center.)
Parents, school officials, community agencies and young people ages 13 to 20 are encouraged to attend this discussion, but only youth will be permitted to actively participate in this process. Representatives from agencies that serve youth will be available to share information about resources they provide.
This focus group is one of a series that the youth commissioners will sponsor in the upcoming weeks. Feedback and input gathered from this initial conversation will be incorporated into the community youth master plan, coordinated by Councilwoman Cindy Circo and invested community stakeholders.
