Reminder: City’s Spring/Summer KCMOre magazine now available online
The City of Kansas City, Mo., City Communications Office reminds residents that the Spring/Summer 2013 issue of KCMOre magazine is now available online at www.kcmo.org/kcmore. Residents may read KCMOre in a printable PDF format that is accessible on mobile devices or in an interactive flash format online.
Please note: while previous issues of KCMOre have been mailed to households, the Spring/Summer 2013 issue of KCMOre is only available online, as a cost-savings measure. Residents without Internet access may request a print copy by contacting the 311 Call Center.
KCMOre, the City’s biannual resident magazine, connects residents with their City government through articles highlighting the City’s basic services, sustainability initiatives, public safety, healthy community initiatives and economic/community development. The back cover of KCMOre features the spring 2013 curbside leaf and brush collection schedule.
“The spring/summer issue of KCMOre presents a wealth of relevant and helpful City information,” said City Manager Troy Schulte. “I encourage residents to check it out online and share it with their neighbors.”
To provide residents with compelling and informative content, KCMOre staff works with all City departments to learn about new services, innovations, recognitions and other topics that might interest or benefit residents. They also collaborate with staff to determine topics involving resident health and safety issues, such as tips to prevent vehicle thefts and code violations.
“We always keep our audience in mind when planning the issue and include information that will universally benefit residents and answer frequently asked questions about City services,” said Megan Kelly, editor of KCMOre. “We worked with 311 staff to learn what residents most often ask about. We also engaged with residents directly through a KCMOre survey and social media to learn what they would like to read in the magazine.”
KCMOre magazine was first published in fall/winter 2011 as an effort to improve resident communication and engagement. KCMOre stands for “Kansas City, MO., Resident Engagement.”
