City postpones informational forum until April 10
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is postponing an informational forum scheduled for Saturday, March 20, due to concerns about potential inclement weather. The forum, hosted by the Neighborhood Services Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department is being rescheduled for April 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center, 4201 E. 63rd St.
During the forum, residents can learn about how the City plans to address code violations involving tall weeds, trash and debris during the upcoming growing season.
Nate Pare, manager of the Neighborhood Preservation Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, will discuss how scheduled mowing operations will occur at City-owned properties, including City-owned vacant lots, lots owned by the Land Trust of Jackson County, and private properties in violation of City codes.
Mike Schumacher, assistant to the director of Neighborhood and Community Services, will discuss the volunteer inspection initiative and code enforcement efforts to address vacant and abandoned properties. Marleen Leonce, KC Recycles manager for the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department, will present information regarding the Neighborhood Clean-up Program and dumpster rental procedures.
This informational forum is the first in a series of upcoming forums to inform the community of various City services.
