Temporary street closures for weekend St Patrick’s festivities

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is advising motorists of temporary lane closures for the weekend of March 12 and 13, due to local parades and a running event.

The Westport St. Patrick’s Day Run, sponsored by the Kansas City Track Club and the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission will result in temporary street closures between 10 and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, along the following route:

West on Westport Road, from the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Westport Road to Clark Avenue; south on Clark Avenue to 43rd Street; east on 43rd Street to Warwick Boulevard; north on Warwick Boulevard to 38th Street; east on 38th Street to Gillham Road; north on Gillham Road to Linwood Boulevard; west on Linwood Boulevard to Broadway Street; south on Broadway Street to 34th Street; west on 34th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue; and south on Pennsylvania Avenue to Westport Road.

The Brookside St. Patrick’s Warm Up Parade, sponsored by the Brookside Business Association, will result in temporary street closures between 2 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, along the following route:

North on Wornall Road from the intersection of Wornall Road and 65th Street to 63rd Street; east on 63rd Street to Main Street; south on Main Street to Meyer Boulevard; and west on Meyer Boulevard to Brookside Road.

The Martin City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, sponsored by the Martin City Business and Community Association, will take place between 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 13. Temporary street closures will occur along the following route:

North on Washington Street from the State Line Shopping Center to 135th Street, then east on 135th Street to Holmes Road.
