City to hold Premium Auto Auction March 16
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Tow Services Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department will hold a Premium Auto Auction on Tuesday, March 16 at the Vehicle Impound Facility located at 7750 E. Front St. The list of premium vehicles can be viewed online at webfusion.kcmo.org/coldfusionapps/uploads/data/PremiumCars.pdf.
Registration is from 8 to 11 a.m. on the day of the auction and the bidding will start at 10 a.m. All bids must be made in person. No one under 18 years old is allowed on the lot for participation in the auction and a state-issued identification card is required to bid on vehicles. Buyers must pay for their vehicles with cash or cashier’s checks by 4:30 p.m. at the conclusion of the auction. Premium Auto Auctions are held quarterly.
The goal of the City's Premium Auto Auction is to provide opportunities for buyers to purchase vehicles at prices below retail. There is no reserve on these vehicles and they are sold to the highest bidder. Many of the vehicles were obtained through police actions and seizures.
Approximately 302 other abandoned vehicles scheduled for sale will be sold immediately following the Premium Auction. That list of vehicles is available online at webfusion.kcmo.org/coldfusionapps/uploads/data/auctionlist.pdf.
All vehicles are sold “as is” with no warranties. For more information about these auctions, contact Lesly Forsberg, manager of the Tow Services Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, (816) 513-0692.
