City of Kansas City, Mo.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Feb. 20, 2013
Recycling collection suspended Thursday
Due to the threat of inclement weather, some City of Kansas City, Mo., solid waste collection services will be suspended on Thursday, Feb. 21.
Curbside recycling, bulky item, illegal dumping and dead animal collections will be suspended on Thursday, Feb. 21 with delays likely through the weekend. This will allow crews normally assigned to these services to assist with snow removal. Residents who are scheduled for Thursday recycling collection on the modified Presidents Day schedule are advised to save their recycling for next week. All recycling drop-off centers will be closed until Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Trash collection will continue on the modified Presidents Day schedule, with addresses normally served on Wednesday receiving a Thursday pickup. Residents may experience a slight delay in trash pickup tomorrow. Residents are advised to still put out their trash by 7 a.m. on their scheduled day, but to be aware that it may be collected one day late.
The City appreciates residents’ patience with these delays in solid waste services.
