Sni-A-Bar Road closes for construction
Construction crews for the City of Kansas City, Mo., have begun work on the Sni-A-Bar Road Bridge in eastern Kansas City, requiring closure of the bridge and roadway. The bridge is located over the Kansas City Southern Railroad line on Sni-A-Bar Road and Eastwood Place and is adjacent to the southwest corner of Eastwood Park.
The Sni-A-Bar Road project will replace the current single-span bridge with a three-span, pre-stressed concrete structure more suited to traffic in the area. In addition, Sni-A-Bar Road and Eastwood Place will be realigned to improve visibility and traffic safety. The City’s Capital Improvements Management Office is coordinating the $2.6 million project, which is estimated to be completed in late summer 2010.
Sni-A-Bar Road will be closed to through traffic during construction. A marked detour route will redirect traffic around the construction site. Residential driveway access in the area will be maintained throughout construction.
Media inquiries and other requests for more information about this project should be directed to Sean Demory, Capital Improvements Management Office, Public Relations and Communications, (816) 513-0059 or e-mail email@example.com.
