Taxpayers will have until April 18 to file their 2010 tax returns
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is advising taxpayers that they will have until Monday, April 18 to file their 2010 Earnings Tax returns and pay any tax due. The City is following the Internal Revenue Service filing deadline, which has been extended this year because Emancipation Day, a holiday observed in the District of Columbia, falls on Friday, April 15. By federal law, District of Columbia holidays impact tax deadlines in the same way that federal holidays do. Therefore, all taxpayers will have three extra days to file this year.
Media inquiries and other requests for more information about the move should be directed to Commissioner of Revenue Mari Ruck, 816-513-1106.
