City suspends taxicab driver for 45 days
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department has given Bereket Issa, a taxicab driver, a 45-day suspension of his taxicab drivers’ certificate.
The suspension will begin on Monday, Feb. 13 and end Thursday, March 29. Issa’s suspension results from a hearing that found Issa guilty of illegally soliciting business for a taxicab fare at Kansas City International Airport. This was Issa’s second violation for illegally soliciting a taxicab fare at the airport within an eight-week period. During the suspension, Issa will not be allowed to operate a taxicab in the City of Kansas City, Mo.
