Alcohol Beverage Advisory Group to meet Feb. 4
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Alcohol Beverage Advisory Group will conduct its next meeting 9 a.m. on Feb. 4 at the Regulated Industries Division office at Century Towers, 635 Woodland Ave., suite 2101.
The advisory group will discuss these proposed ordinance changes:
-- Posting of dress codes
-- Distance from churches and schools
-- Change in ownership
-- Acts prohibited for retail licensees
-- Increase in radius for consenters for sales-by-drink and sales-by-package
-- Change in number of consenters for extended-hours license
-- Consenter qualifications.
The Alcohol Beverage Advisory Group consists of 12 members from the community and the manager of the Regulated Industries Division. The purpose of the group is to review City ordinances from Chapter 10 on a routine basis and make recommendations. The recommendations are made with regard to public safety and take into consideration new standards and advances within the liquor industry as they may apply to the current liquor laws. The manager of Regulated Industries Division shares the group's recommendations with the City Council for further review and consideration.
