Second public meeting for proposed MWDBE and work force ordinance changes will be Jan. 24
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Human Relations Division of the City Manager's Office is hosting a town hall meeting Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. about proposed ordinance changes. The discussion will focus on the minority, women and disadvantaged business enterprise ordinance, as well as draft language for a new work force employment ordinance. The meeting will be at the Tony Aguirre Community Center, located at 2050 West Pennway Terrace.
This is the second of two public meetings being held to educate contractors, the business community and the public about proposed ordinance changes. The proposal includes an addition to Chapter 38, Articles I and II of the City Code of Ordinances as it relates to companies that contract with the City of Kansas City, Mo., including those receiving tax increment financing, and draft language regarding the proposed work force employment ordinance.
