Some City services closed, delayed due to weather
The City of Kansas City, Mo. is advising residents that the recycling drop-off centers will be closed today and through the weekend due to the extreme cold and snow at the centers. The Household Hazardous Waste facility is open today, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition, trash and recycling collections, which were delayed one day due to Monday being a holiday, are still on the holiday schedule. Because of heavy snow, it is likely that additional delays may be experienced. However, residents are advised to still put out their trash per the holiday schedule and contact the 3-1-1 Action Center within 24 hours if it is not collected on time.
The Bulky Item and Dead Animal collections are temporarily suspended to allow their crews to assist with snow removal. The City is asking for residents to please be patient with these delays in Solid Waste Services. Bulky Collections will resume when snow operations are complete.
Residents wanting to report slick spots or missed streets are advised to hold off on calling the 3-1-1 City Action Center until at least noon on Friday at the earliest to allow City crews time to clear streets.
