Lowell Gard appointed city prosecutor
City of Kansas City, Mo., City Attorney Galen Beaufort announced the assignment of Lowell Gard to serve as city prosecutor effective Tuesday, Jan. 18.
“Lowell has served well as the first assistant city prosecutor for several years,” Beaufort said. “He brings to his new assignment as city prosecutor a thorough knowledge of the administration of the City Prosecutor’s Office, high ethical standards and excellent criminal prosecution skills.”
In addition to the traditional city prosecutor responsibilities, Gard will oversee the City Prosecutor’s Office’s implementation of, and training for, the new REJIS systems of IMDS-Plus and LEWeb over the next year.
Gard began his tenure with the City Attorney’s Office as a part-time courtroom prosecutor in April 2004. He became a full-time prosecutor in May 2005. Gard was in private practice prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office.
