Water main break and valve repairs impact Ward Parkway area
Water service will be off overnight
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department is advising motorists that both southbound lanes of Ward Parkway between Meadow Lake Parkway and 77th Terrace will be closed this evening, Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 9:30 p.m. to allow crews to repair a 12-inch water main break and valve. Motorists can expect one lane to reopen Thursday, Jan. 12 before the evening rush hour.
One southbound lane in this region is currently closed in preparation for the repairs.
During the repairs, traffic will be routed west on Meadow Lake Parkway to southbound State Line Road, and then head east on 79th Street to resume southbound travel on Ward Parkway.
In addition, water service will be off in the area between 75th and 77th streets, and between Ward Parkway and Terrace Street, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 11 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Water service is anticipated to be restored Thursday, Jan. 12 at 6 a.m.
