City reminds taxpayers about tax deadlines
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Revenue Division reminds City taxpayers about the following, upcoming tax deadlines:
- All business license renewals and payments are due Feb. 29, 2012. Once the appropriate tax forms and payments have been received and processed, taxpayers will receive their 2012 business license.
-The Employer’s Annual Reconciliation of Earnings Tax Withheld is due Feb. 29, 2012. All W-2 forms are also due at this time. W-2 information can be submitted electronically via the City’s online portal at www.kcmo.org/w2.
-Taxpayers will have until Monday, April 16 to file and pay their Wage Earner’s Earnings Tax. The Revenue Division will mail an informational postcard to all wage earner taxpayers currently in the City’s tax database. This postcard will have specific filing instructions, including information on how to use the City’s free, online system to file and pay the Wage Earner’s Earnings Tax.
All Kansas City, Mo., tax forms can be obtained via the City’s website, www.kcmo.org. As in past years, and in line with the Internal Revenue Service procedures, the Revenue Division will not mail tax forms to taxpayers for the 2012 tax filing season. This includes the Wage Earner Earnings Tax, Profits Earnings Tax and Business License Renewal forms. Hard copies of forms will also be made available at area libraries and at City Hall (414 E. 12th St. Kansas City, MO, 64106). Questions may be directed to the Revenue Division at 816-513-1120.
