City mourns the loss of Firefighter Richard Paul
The City of Kansas City, Mo. wishes to acknowledge the passing of Richard Paul KCFD and expresses its appreciation for his many years of service. Paul, a fire apparatus operator, suffered a medical emergency this morning during his annual KCFD physical. He was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital, where he died.
"I am saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Mr. Paul," said Mayor Funkhouser. "The men and women of the Kansas City Fire Department represent the best the city has to offer its residents and Mr. Paul was an important part of that. I thank him for his service and extend my deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues."
Paul entered the City’s Fire Academy in 1977 and was most recently assigned to P-43, located at 12900 E. 350 Hwy.
