Once your group has adopted a street for litter control and the group is ready for its first cleanup, you must call the program coordinator for the Street Maintenance District in which your street resides. That name and telephone number will be provided with your adoption papers. Call the district program coordinator to make needed arrangements to borrow safety vests and pick up trash bags. The time and date of the cleanup will be scheduled at that time.
Upon completion of the cleanup you should, again, call the program coordinator to arrange for pickup of the trash bags and return of the safety vests. City employees will pick up full bags and dispose of them at a certified land fill.
No yard waste or large items are to be included in the cleanup. If the cleanup group finds those things, please contact the District Program Coordinator to arrange for their pickup and removal. Adopting groups may keep recyclable items such as aluminum cans glass, plastics and newspapers.
Liability waivers must be signed for each participating member. Children should have their parents sign for them.
