Kansas City, Mo. Parks and Recreation has programs for people of all ages and abilities. From aerobics to social groups, each community center offers programs unique to the seniors in our community. Meet new friends, try new things and share your talents with others.

L.A.F
Life After Fifty (L.A.F.) is a program to get seniors engaged with their peers, adapt to societal changes, live healthy lifestyles and have fun doing it.  We have computer classes, luncheons, art programs, card games and more.

Seniors on the Move
"Seniors on the Move" is a great way to make friends.  Participants enjoy activities such as exercising, field trips, Holiday celebrations, games, community activities and special-interest classes.

This class is designed to teach and assist seniors with basic computer skills and applications: Microsoft Word, internet, and setting up an e-mail address.

Silver Sneakers
An instructional chair exercise class for patrons who are members of Humana Health Care over the age of 50.  Seniors engage in routines to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and coordination.

MARC Senior Lunch Program
Provides a nutritional meal for the 60 plus population. Sponsored by Mid-America Regional Council for Aging.  Participants must call center for a lunch reservation 24-hours in advance.

Silver Sneakers
The SilverSneakers program is a walking and exercise program developed for seniors. SilverSneakers offers an innovative blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially-oriented programming that allows older adults to take greater control of their health.

Senior Cardio/ Weight Room
Our cardio equipment includes treadmills, elliptical, upright and recumbent bikes and stairstep machines.  You can strengthen and tone all major muscle groups on the circuit machines or functional trainer.  Free weight equipment includes a half rack, smith machine and dumbbells from 5-100 lbs.  Staff is available to help you learn the equipment.
$15 monthly/ $5 daily

Members of Coventry Health Care through American Specialty Health Networks (ASH) will receive a standard membership with zero enrollment fees, and membership dues.  A member is eligible for Silver & Fit, and Active & Fit when their health plan or employer group elects to offer an ASH Networks silver & Fit / Active & fit benefit plan.  For more information concerning eligibility call 877-329-2746, option #2, Monday through Friday from 5 a.m.-6 p.m.

Golden Age Senior Club
Come out and join our senior group that meets every Tuesday.  Enjoy good entertainment, bingo, cards or just come meet some really nice folks.  Participants are asked to give a $1 donation for entainment.  Coffee, salty and sweet refreshments are brought in by the Club members on a weekly basis.  Every3rd Tuesday a Pot Luck is held by the club and and everyone is asked to bring in their favorite food items.
