Sign up for a program or class at Line Creek Ice Arena 

Each five week session includes:

  • One 25-minute lesson each week
  • Free skate rental and public skating on lesson day
  • Skills evaluation and ISI Badge Testing

All Line Creek Figure Skating Classes are taught by ISI Certified instructors.  The Ice Skating Institute requires a universal set of standards for basic recreational figure skating. Together, we ensure a fun and safe skating experience for children and adults of all levels.

Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin in order to register or check in and pick up your skates. The Coaches will meet you in the warming room before your first class. 
Dress warmly - gloves, jacket and long pants.

Special Olympics
Sunday, 2:50 - 3:15 p.m.
Youth, 5 years and up
Beginning skater through advanced.  One of the best programs in the state for skaters with special needs. Taught by Debbie Cole, certified special Olympics instructor.
FREE, but participants need $15 ISI Membership.

Inside mohawk (left and right turns), backward edges, forward spiral, forward pivot, side toe hop, bunny hop and 2-foot spin.

The Circuit Class will teach circuit of different classes every week: Axel Class skater must pass gold freestyle; Double Jumps Class skaters must pass Axel Class; Edges Class - for advanced skills skaters and above.

Learn to play hockey

Fridays
6 - 6:40 p.m.

Skaters must pass beginner 1 and beginner 2 learn to skate classes or be evaluated by a Line Creek skating instructor or staff member, before enrolling. Full gear is required to participate.
$13 per class
(Plus $15 yearly ISI membership fee.  Separate check must be made payable to ISI)

 

Synchronized skating

Synchronized skating:  Line Creek Ice Arena and the Line Creek Figure Skating Club are proud to be the home of Kansas City Illusion, Kansas City's largest competitvive synchronized skating program.

Each team consist of 8 - 20 skaters who execute fast footwork and daring transitions in formation with great speed and accuracy.  Synchro has become the fast growing sport on the ice from beginner levels through Collegiate and International Teams. 

Line Creek is the home of 3 Synchronized Skating teams with skaters from 6-18 years of age.  For more information, call Amy at 816-513-0762.

More fun skating opportunities

Hockey clinics: For skaters that have completed learn-to-skate classes. Game and skating fundamentals are the focus.

Private lessons: All instructors are certified to teach private lessons. Ask your instructor for details.

Competition and recitals:  Held throughout the year. Ask your instructor for more information.

Adult Hockey (must be 18 or older)

Various levels of Adult hockey leagues - A Division, B/C Division and C/D Division
Please call the area to arena to get information about adult hockey leagues and we'll point you in the right direction.

D League
Tuesday, 8:40-10:30 p.m.
Tuesday nights are for beginning players and those who have played before, but are more than just a little rusty. If you want to play and have fun while learning the game of hockey, this is the night for you. $18 per night. You cannot play in this league if you are above the average level of play on the ice.

Stick time or drop in hockey
Friday, 11 a.m. to Noon
On Friday, we offer stick time for anyone 18 and older who wants to play and has time to skate during the day. $10 per person.

Goalies are free at all stick times
