The Loose Park Garden Center was built in 1957 for meetings and horticultural exhibitions of various kinds. The garden center, located in Loose Park, has two large meeting rooms with small kitchens attached to the meeting rooms. The garden center has a horticultural library open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Meeting room rental fees Horticulture groups (2 hours): $25 Non-horticulture groups (2 hours): $50 Rose garden Weddings: $325 Rehearsals: $100
Hours of operation Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. An additional $30 per 2-hour overtime fee will be charged for time after 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seven hours, including set up and breakdown time. Additional time over the first seven hours will be billed as overtime. Cancellations The garden center must have a minimum of 48-hours notification of a cancellation or a $25 fine will be assessed. After failure to notify the center of a cancellation twice, all further reservations may be cancelled. The garden center now issues all permits for Loose Park rentals, including rose garden rental, the pavilion (shelter) permits, lake area rentals and photo shoots. Take a Tree Walk in Loose Park Be a Tree Explorer in Kansas City with Gardeners Connect's series of Tree Walks to explore the diverse collection of trees in the Stanley R. McLane Arboretum located within Loose Park. Each walk will introduce you to a select group of trees or an area of the park.
