Where else but in Kansas City, Missouri will you find...three men and a woman roaring through turbulent waters on the backs of powerful horses...cherubs and winged sea horses seemingly dancing through raindrops...abstract flames boldly rising above softly cascading waterfalls? The answer is nowhere. And these are but a few of the unique and majestic fountains that make their home in our City of Fountains. Let's make sure they keep flowing!
It costs $168,000 per year just for electricity to energize Kansas City, Missouri's 47 publicly-owned fountains. The Friends of the Fountains fund has been created to cover operating, maintenance and promotional costs for these fountains. We invite you to help underwrite the expenses by making a donation to the Friends of the Fountains fund. With your assistance, we can ensure the retention of our city's flowing treasures.
Kansas City's fountains symbolize our world-class status and are a visual display of community pride. Now is the time to join forces to showcase the beauty and craftmanship of these celebrations of water. Together, we can keep our City of Fountains flowing!
