The Liquor Control Board of Review was established under Section 10-61 of the code of ordinances and has formal rules and procedures under which it operates. The board has five members and two alternates. The members fall under these categories: attorney and chair, attorney and vice chair, industry and alternate, non-affiliated, neighborhood and alternate.
Hearings are held at the request of the director of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department or by license applicants. Hearings are typically held in the Regulated Industries division's offices at 635 Woodland Ave. Either party may appeal the board's decision to the Circuit Court.
