Overview
The Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing program (also known as Kansas City Project Hope) is targeted at those affected by the economic downturn. It provides funds to assist program participants to achieve stable housing arrangements, either through their own means or through public assistance. It is not intended to provide long-term support for program participants, nor will it be able to address all of the financial and supportive services needs of households that affect housing stability. It was authorized by ordinances 090379 and 090647 in the fall of 2009. This is an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 grant-funded program. A fact sheet for the program is available, as well as a PowerPoint overview of the program. A program guide is under construction. For more information, please contact the staff at the Mohart Center, (816) 784-4500.
