Animal adoption process
 

The Halfway Home Pet Adoptions animal shelter is open for adoptions Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from noon until 4 p.m. The shelter offers extended hours on Thursdays, from noon until 7 p.m.

Stray dogs are kept at the shelter for five business days before they are offered for adoption. Dogs relinquished by their owners to the shelter are put up for adoption the next day. The fee to adopt a dog is $100, which includes spaying or neutering, and necessary vaccinations.

Stray cats are kept at the shelter for two business days before they are offered for adoption. Cats relinquished by their owners to the shelter are put up for adoption the next day. The adoption fee for a cat is $65, which includes spaying or neutering, and necessary vaccinations.
