The Kansas City, Mo., Animal Shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. It is currently operated by the Kansas City Pet Project.

Stray dogs are kept at the shelter for five business days before they are offered for adoption; stray cats for two business days.
