The City Prosecutor's Office prosecutes all City ordinance violations. Each year approximately 350,000 new cases are filed in municipal court.

The full-time staff handles the specialized courtrooms (housing and domestic violence cases), appeals cases, jury trials and the day-to-day office operations.
 
Members of the part-time prosecutorial staff are assigned to each of the nine courtrooms everyday and handle all cases in that particular courtroom.
