| Enterprise Infrastructure Management Division |
The mission of the Enterprise Infrastructure Division is to provide a stable, adaptive communications infrastructure which will support current applications and future technologies. Division functions include: Server Management -- Maximizing efficient use of servers throughout the City as well as maximize server and related network availability and ensure data reliability.- Infrastructure Security -- Providing protection from external and internal threats against the City's infrastructure including hardware, software, and data.
- Disaster Recovery -- Providing ongoing data backup services and an associated Backup Network/Data Center to mitigate risks associated with any potential network, hardware or software failures.
- Mobile Services -- Provide high quality mobile data communications and cell
phones for the support remote operations. - Enterprise Architecture -- Providing an adaptive architecture using standards, modularity, flexibility, device/application mapping and automation.
- Data Centers -- Develop and maintain data centers and telecommunications
spaces, the core areas for transporting communications, hosting services, warehousing data, delivering external services and the support of disaster recovery services. - Database Administration - Providing system related database services for the various business applications.
- Telecommunications Infrastructure -- Provide high quality enterprise telecommunications infrastructure such as fiber infrastructure, structured cabling systems, racking systems, electrical service and grounding for the delivery of communications and applications.
- Voice, Data, and Video Communications -- Providing an integrated, versatile infrastructure for the convergence of all communications while maintaining the best level of customer support including voice, data, and video over wired and wireless networks.
